Drama is an essential part of our high school curriculum where students learn about themselves and diverse cultures. Performances focusing on the classic and new plays provide the students and community with outstanding theatrical productions in the fall and spring. High school students participate in the University Interscholastic League One-Act Play competition in hopes of advancing to the state level. Students Learn all of the aspects of the theater and are trained in acting as well as a set design and construction.  Opportunities are provided for students to become directors and playwrights, and performance opportunities vary from campus to campus. 


​Forney ISD is a proud recipient of the Texas Thespians Premiere Communities for Theatre Education 2022-2023, 2023-2024 and the Educational Theatre Association Premier Communities for Theatre Education 2022-2025.

Forney ISD Theatre is also a proud recipient of the Texas Educational Theatre Association's Award of Distinction 2024-2025.
