​​Students earning a position on the school cheerleading squad are instructed in the fundamentals of cheerleading activities.  The purpose of the cheerleading squad is to promote school spirit and a positive school climate by participating at athletic events and extra-curricular activities as deemed appropriate by the campus administration and Cheerleading instructor. 

Cheerleaders are expected to be positive role models, serving as school ambassadors on campus and in the community.

​Parent Meetings

All parents of students wishing to participate in cheer tryouts shall attend ONE parent meeting. These meetings are mandatory in order for the student to tryout for a cheer team.

Please attend the meeting at the campus your student is zoned to attend for the 2026-2027 school year.

Required Documents

Campuses will distribute the FISD Sideline Cheer Tryout Manual as well as a campus cheer handbook.  Please speak with your campus cheer coach or obtain your copy at the cheer meetings listed above. 

All important documents (as outlined in the Mandatory Cheer Parent Meeting) must be returned in order for the student to participate in tryouts.
